[*GNOME Boxes*](https://apps.gnome.org/Boxes/) aims at providing a simple interface to create and use virtual machines for Linux with GNOME.*GNOME Boxes* does not allow the use of a Persistent Storage.
This can be achieved using a technique called [[!wikipedia cold boot attack]]. To prevent such attacks, the data in RAM is overwritten by random data when you shut down Tails.
