When Tails starts, the system time zone is set to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). This time zone might be a few hours in the future if you are west of the United Kingdom, or in the past if you are east of the UK. The minutes should be accurate.
The term "local network" refers to the set of computers and devices that can be reached directly from your computer without going through the Internet.
Tails previously included tools to *wipe* files and available disk space. We removed these tools from Tails 6.0 (February 2024), because we think that they are not reliable enough on modern storage devices, such as USB sticks and Solid-State Drives (SSDs).
